Sower of the Seeds

The seed is miniscule in size yet plays a mighty role: it cultivates the harvest. As small as it is, the seed is essential, for without it there is no bounty. Significant indeed, it remains humble in its service to the harvest, knowing that without the crop there is no future seed. The tiny grain exists solely to serve the whole.

The parts (individual humans) exist to serve the good of the whole (humanity).

I accept this fact of life by trusting I do not forfeit my personal wishes when offering myself to assist the master plan. My individual needs are not as important as what serves the whole, but still meaningful. Humbled by this attitude, I am empowered with the knowledge that I’m a microcosm here to contribute to the big picture. The contribution becomes the guiding force and my desires and the need to fulfill them fade. A peaceful sense of security washes over, a feeling of safety. My service to the whole, as minor as it may be, generates positive energy, and curiously, that good energy comes back to serve me.

Seeds of humility reap a harvest of peace.

Showing up in the world with humility creates a bridge of trust with others. Trust creates connection and connection leads to peace. People know you are willing to do what’s best for your relationships and for humanity and they feel safe in your presence. (Quite the opposite of what many people feel today.) Finding your place in the world next to others—neither above, nor below, but beside—you are not any more or any less worthy than anyone else; your needs are not any more or any less worthy than anyone else’s. You are simply a human amongst humans: A Sower of the Seeds of the New Earth.

This awareness and the ability to live according to it is high up on the ladder of emotional evolution and spiritual ascension.

Can you maintain individuality while playing your part in the whole? Can you put humility in motion at the Homeowners Association meeting, the polling center, and the Parent Teacher Organization conference? Will you sacrifice center stage for the sake of the entire cast?

You are responsible for the effort, not the outcome. (Some 12-step recovery speak for you!) Acting with humility is the effort part, then we surrender to the outcome. We put our best, humble foot forward and trust in the result.
